finally got down to fully read this book by John Bevere that i'd bought quite some time ago, but have never finished.. not that i've finished it now, but currently have a resolve to finish reading it, and i will.

i like what it says in one of the first few chapters: it's always black-and-white for other people, but there's always a gray area for ourselves. how true.. oftentimes i think that people shouldn't do this, shouldn't try that, but at times i end up doing the exact thing.. it was sort of a mini-revelation to me, that i've disrespected God by going against His commandments, yet thinking that God has somehow allowed me some leeway in doing the things that i do..

change my thinking, change my attitude, change my life..

had an amazing discipleship class with Pastors last saturday.. how do you keep your idealism in this world, even as you grow up?

according to dictionary.com, idealism is "the cherishing or pursuit of high or noble principles, purposes, goals, etc".. well, that was the closest definition to what we had discussed..

idealism is hard to maintain in this practical world.. that's just the cold hard truth.. but at the same time, there is an innate desire to remain idealistic, to continue being idealistic.. bills, housing, cars, children.. they can just blow you away..

but remaining idealistic is a choice.. and what we do today determines our choice, and determines whether we can stay idealistic in the future.. we need to have a strong anchor, and we need to be deeply rooted.. have such a strong anchor that we cannot simply just say "there's someone else to take over me".. so deeply rooted that no matter what happens, we stay convicted to the cause that we live for, die for..

are you willing to die a fool for Christ? i am, and i want to remain so.. (:

had a great christmas eve today, not considering the fact that my alarm didn't work and i was late for my duty this morning.. woke up at like 7.30 when i was supposed to be in camp at 7 lol.. ah well..

service was great.. had quite a number of new faces, and the Word of God was just anointed today.. :D after service we spent some time in getting down and going to changi airport to for dinner.. yvonne gave me my present for the CG gift exchange!! it's super nice, i'll upload the picture once i have it.. (AHEM YU TING!)

ate drunken chicken at the airport T1 staff canteen haha.. it was GOOD! after that we rushed to candy empire to get stuff for the inter-CG gift exchange, bought quite a lot of candee! it felt like candy weekend again!

went back to church after that with yu ting and daniel.. decided on the way back that we should start changing our language! no more "damn", "oh my God" and things like that! so d8, let's grow this new culture man!! xDD

took LOADS of photos man.. waiting for yu ting to send me the photos too.. it was really fun hanging out la.. haha..

chen gang's going back to shanghai tomorrow! ): it's like super fast la, he's just been back for like a few weeks, and now he's going off again.. sigh..

counted down in church until12 midnight haha.. then took a bus home..

2000 years ago, Jesus was born on this day! 2000 years later, we're still celebrating his birthday! and 2000 years later, we'll still be partying on Christmas Day! woo!!

and so it comes down to this. when you're about to ORD, you begin to look around for a job to cover your living expenses and hopefully increase your savings.. i definitely need more than just a job, and am actually looking at quite a few part time jobs which can get me a pretty good sum of money, and yet at the same time be able to have quite a lot of free time to serve and volunteer in church.. it will come to pass man!

romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

this school holidays have been a time of growing and moulding man.. so much has happened, i've been given so many opportunities, and while i might not have made full use of all the opportunities, while i might have made some decisions that i regret, all in all i must say that this december has been a time of growth.. can't wait for 09 man!

feeling better about things now, even though i still don't really feel totally good about things, but hey, they're going to work out fine now (:

yesterday was such a dead day in the morning.. went to work super early at 7 cos i was supposed to open the office, but in the end the overnight shift kept the keys and no one was to be found to open the other rooms! after that just went to surf around, blog a little, then began my super boring day.. in camp.. >.< went out around mid-day to go for my dental appointment, there's just a teeny weeny bit of gap left before it closes and i'm done with braces! can't wait man!

then i went to church again to meet calvin and cavin to hang out! i didn't bring my guitar because it was a bit too troublesome to bring it on the bus when i was going so many places, and the worship team was having rehearsals which meant that volleyball would be quite distracting, so in the end we chatted, walked down to collect photos, played pool and everything.. calvin's quite good for someone who's just started playing man (no matter what you say!!) you know how some team members just cannot follow instructions to hit a ball? he can! and makes the shot so well, it drops into a pocket! when i started playing, i was the type who straight ball also cannot shoot one lo LOL

when we were finishing up fifi came down on her way to huan bin's house for their CG outing and barbeque, and she asked whether we wanted to go.. so in the end, we all hurriedly kept our stuff, collected our belongings and cheonged downstairs to meet fifi to go there lol.. had loads of fun, meeting old faces and new faces.. you know how sometimes it's quite hard for people to really sit down and chat with one another, just get to know each other better, things like that? i realised that yesterday was a good chance to catch up man! haha.. d8 should do something like this soon!!

can't wait for today man! it's just going to be so amazing, there's just so much excitement buzzing within me! it's going to be a GREAT service!

dun really know what to write, what to say, but just have this nagging feeling to try to alleviate my worries and fear.. that decision was mine to make, and once i made it, there was no turning back, whatever happens, i was going to have to bear the consequences, and bear the consequences i will..

but hey, everything's gonna be fine, cos God will provide amen!

the past two days have been a chance for me to catch up with some sleep and hang out with my CG people and other friends from church and also LnMC3SMG.. zone outing was fun, watching Bolt as a whole big group eating my char kuay teow was hilarious, discipleship class was insightful.. haha..

but no matter what happened, i'm going to be fine.. i've survived more than this without God, this time, it's going to be alright.. yeah..

haha, had an amazing last few days in church and everything.. let me go through one by one what happened.. lol..

we had CANDY weekend in church over the weekend!! haha it was super cool, there was just SO MUCH candy all around church! there was candy floss, and so much ben and jerry's ice-cream everywhere, and everyone was just smiling and grinning from all the sugar! we also played a lot of MTVs from the last era (i.e. when i was still in secondary school), and it was so cool seeing all the people my age gathering, singing and dancing along, laughing at one another, and also seeing all the younger generation, shocked at us! LOL (never mind, ten years down the road, they'll be like us, and the yet younger generation will do the same to them!)

monday was a rest day for me, and i went to tampines mall to get my new phone! i dun really have a lot of money left, but hey, i needed to use my starhub voucher before it expired, and my mom just passed me some money which was meant for me to buy clothes!, so i made use of that money to buy the phone first.. like it a lot, but still need time to get use to the QWERTY keypad lol.. but hey, it's still a great phone! haha..

early tuesday morning saw me in church at 730am! haha, what was i doing in church that early? cos we had AMT(A)! haha, basically my church is now having a whole training plan laid up, and this was one of the training which we have to go through to rise up! haha, it was really great to be in the first batch of AMT trainees, because there is simply just no inkling of what it's going to be like, except that it's going to be different from BMT(A)! not the ARMY BMT, but another training plan in my church LOL in the whole of the first day we just went through session after session of powerful sharing and teachings from Pastor, Fifi, Dominic and Charleston! there was just so much to learn, we were all physically tired from the early morning, yet all of us were just so hungry for the Word of God! indeed, the flesh is weak, but the spirit is willing!

we were supposed to sleep at 12am, but if you know my church, that is just impossible! at 12am there were still so many of us walking around, doing our own stuff, eating the ben and jerry's ice cream, chatting and JOKING around! yong ming rong is just super funny! we were all lying in a circle, and he kept telling jokes! in the end we laughed until 2 plus then sleep.. lol..

at around 4 plus i suddenly woke up, and saw the dimming audi main lights.. and looked over to the sound console.. and knew that was it.. LOL but i wasn't awake enough to totally wake up, so dozed off again.. but it was not long before the worship team began singing. on stage. with mics. with the volume quite loud. with me and the circle of guys being directly aimed at by the speakers.

suddenly you just saw all the guys wake up LOL. we had a early morning prayer meeting, which makes the CHC early morning prayer meeting not early enough LOL. after that was breakfast and a break, then we had a john3:16 test (don't ask me why, i like that way john3:16 looks LOL) after that had one final session before we did a final church clean-up.. :D

had CG after that! haha, it was amazing, we all just shared out visions and stuff! calvin came, and we spent ages talking about speaking in tongues! haha, i can just feel that we're going to discuss that again on saturday! lol!

went to army today, totally tired out LOL. but hey, i survived, i'm here now blogging LOL.. finished my AMT assignment, did a quite cool study on romans 9, and felt God speaking to me.. it's back to the fundamentals man.. (:

ok, gonna worship for a while then sleep!!! tomorrow's going to be another great day!! CG outing to sentosa!!!

candy weekend!!

haha, i'm so excited about this man! it's going to be cool, we're going to bring in all the candee and sweets and choc and ice cream all for YOU people with a sweet tooth! cool right!

week after this, we're going to have... retro weekend!! go back in time to the 80's and 90's and relive all your childhood memories (for the people my age), or reminisce about the good ol' days where wanton mee from your hawker centre cost only $2!

also that week, we're going to have our very own... show me what you've got have a hidden talent nobody knows about, because you had no chance to flaunt it? your chance is here! hit the lights, show your style as you sashay/impress/wow the audience with your talents!

you think that's all? no, there's more!

christmas service will be just round the corner! what's december without coming together with family and friends and enjoying the festive atmosphere? don't feel like squeezing with tens of thousands of people in town? come down to church where you can just hang out, and chill with your friends, and celebrate christmas together!

on new year's day, there's also going to be a special new year's eve friends' night for all friends out there! it's your special night, make sure you don't miss it!!

i just am so excited about this december man!! woo!
